This photo has the name:
SVR in his home in New-York, 7th of November 1922

Did he already have house in New-York in 1922?

Pay attention on "his" head above the mantlepiece, who is the author of th sculpture?

It looks very similar to the one in the Senar:

Thank you Marianne! It looks like you've come across some lost treasure, and you're revealing bits of it to us almost every day!

Looking at these pictures, we cannot help wondering (although this is not a relevant issue) how tall this man was...

I have just discovered this photo today, that's why I hurry to share it with you!
It's just I keep inventing the key words for the search machine, and sometimes they bring luck and we get a very rare photo :D

Today is a magic day! I just can't avoid telling you, sharing with you my joy!
Today I tried to find the information that opus 23#10 asked me to find - about the conservatory education of Natalie Satina. And the only information I see leads me to the site that is still under construction I guess!!!!

A new site devoted to Rachmaninoff and his favourite Ivanovka!!!

Now only the Russian version is available, but English one will follow!

Here are the most rare pictures from this pearl:

Rachmaninoff and Zharov - the director of the famous Zharov Choir

Is it the only photo where we see SVR giving the autograph? :D

Am I wrong or are they flying a kite in one of the above photos? And there are some unoccupied seats at the table. Maybe if we hurry a little bit back in time...
Wonderful photos, so different from the commercial ones.
Once more, Marianne is our champion!

I have just started reading Geoffrey Norris's bio of SVR. In the photo section in the middle of the book, a photo entitled "Hay-making at Ivanovka" features the Satin family, a few family friends, a Russian priest, and SVR standing in back with his hand on his Sofiya's shoulder. In front, with the most startling, deep-penetrating gaze is SVR's future wife Natalya. From this picture and the obvious photogenic qualities of the girl, one can easily imagine how and why Sergey was attracted to his cousin's beauty and femininity. If you have access to this book, or some other source, check out this photo and see what you think. She is quite lovely!

Daniel, exactly! May be we can hurry and live our life the same way they did? I bet that's even harder than moving through the time, but more possible... :D

StewH, thank you! All the thanks go to Opus 23#10, who wanted to know more about Natalia)))) I am only an instrument, Russian-speaking one

We are really lucky, because the site is being made and not a single soul in Russia knows but we do...

StewH, you mean this picture of course:

as for the photos, I'd better start "Ivanovka" topic, not to mix all together...

Marianne,

Yes, of course! That's the one! Natalya looks to be a very determined, strong-willed young woman. Not at all bad, of course! I'm quite taken by her in this photo.
