Please help, how one can open this file:

www*library*upenn*edu/exhibits/rbm/ormandy/interview.html

Interview with Eugene Ormandy conducted by Morris Henken, ca. 1973

http://beansidhe.isc-net.upenn.edu:8080 ... mandya1.rm

Ormandy discusses an early experience with Sergei Rachmaninoff--a 1930s performance of the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with the Minneapolis Symphony.

Is it possible to download this file? Or at least to listen!

Yes, of course! Replace the "*" by "." This will take you to the website "Penn Special Collections" from which you can download the interview with Ormandy. This file is playable by RealPlayer. Download it from their website (for free). Or the link you give is the same interview.

You're very welcome! Let us know what you think of the interview--it's very funny and illustrates how humble SVR was with his professional colleagues, in this case Mr. Ormandy.

Marianne,

This Ormandy interview link has not worked for what seems like 1 or 2 years. I had to figure out a new link myself, rather intuitively - but I did and it works:

http://www*library*upenn*edu slash media slash music slash ormandy slash ormandya1.rm
(just replace the * with . and "slash" with / )

This was hard to figure out - the other link was not working at all. I also have an mp3 of this reminiscence of Ormandy's. Maybe you've heard this interview by now.

Oh, thank you! I did download the record but converting to mp3 didn't help. May be You could send it to me somehow or upload it somewhere? That would be very very great!
