I think I read a few months ago that Ashkenazy was told to have once counted all the notes of that concerto...ask him to compare your results !! (I did also count all those notes a long time ago, but I do not remeber the precise number...)

Don't forget Guilels, please !! He is almost as good as Richter, Horowitz or Rachmaninov.

For the preludes, Ashkenazy is for me the king. For the études-tableaux Angelich's way of playing the piano, both intense and virtuoso, is simply the greatest think I have ever heard in those pieces.

For eternity : the bells by Kondrashin (Moscow philarmonic orchestra).

The sound is awful but here each bar is a miracle, a kind of magic like in no other recording I know.
