Any luck with the etude Jessica? Yes, thank you. I'm still plugging away at it, although I haven't touched it in a while. VERY difficult. My technique isn't there yet ... Are you familiar with his etude in C minor? Op. 39, No. 7? I've been listening to it alot lately, and I love it more and more ea...

Question from Registered user (Rach transcriptions)

Hi everyone, This email was from Fred, it seems he can not post on here, even though he registered. Here is the question he had: ********************************* A transcription for piano, 2 hands, of Rachmaninoff's Romance in A for l piano, 6 hands, and a transcription for pianists with small hand...

If it's up to you to choose a work by S.R. then why choose a prelude. Must it be a short work? I'd choose the 2nd Symphony or the Paganini Variations or the Cello Sonata or something like that if I were you. YIKES!!! They're not doing a PHD DISERTATION! LOL!! Undergrad level, I'm sure it doesn't ha...

Thank you for the advice about the etude. That makes sense, and I'll give it a try...and keep experimenting. I think I just need to let my technique develop more. Yeah, the all Rachmaninoff program....the more I thought about it, the more I DON'T want to do it. I've heard it done before, and I loved...

Okay, this Etude is driving me mad...(advice needed)

It's the C sharp minor etude in the Op. 33 set, the last one. I highly recommend it, it's LOTS OF FUN! BUT, Does anyone have any ideas about how to move across those big appeggios down in the bass? I know the notes just fine, except my technique just isn't there yet to move slightly faster. I guess ...

What a great idea to play together! :) That would be fun!! Where DO you live anyways?

And thanks for the compliments about my site...it's supposed to be updated soon, with different languages and everything.

Morakeo

I really like what you said as your interests:

"Anything pure and true that opens my mind and soul." Very nicely said.

So, tell us about yourself. You seem interesting. OR, send me an email sometime.

:)

What about the Scherzo in F major? Written in 1887 I believe (according to University Library). I LOVE IT. Very intense, very romantic...very Russian.

And I agree about the 4th concerto, it's one of my favorites, and hardly played. Michelangeli does a great job with it.

Thanks so much for the info you guys! :) The C# minor Prelude for two pianos is out of this world. Myself and a friend of mine did it one time, WOW! There is nothing like those big chords on TWO concert grands. I'm going to look into the symphonic works for piano, I think that would be amazing, espe...

Re: How to connect to the song you are playing

Hello all, Please give me some advice. I have to play one of Chopin Nocturnes in a couple of days in my teacher's students' recital. I feel like the biggest ingredient that is missing from my playing is the emotion. One moment, I'm filled with lots of emotions, and I can apply it and be connected w...
