Thanks Amphissa! :D I will check this out! My goal is to own the complete recordings found on amzon's web site, as well as posses at least one recording of each opus. I am halfway there. not allowed.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000003FB7/qid=1131750591/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/102-0935988-7...

I think you are right. Rachmaninoff's hair was never that long in his older years. :o

I know that I have a pretty good libary of Rachmaninoff. But I haven't been able to find some of his works on CD, such as Op. 15: Six Choruses, for women's or children's voices and piano. I would like to find some good recordings of his opera's, in Russian and English. It would be a nice addition to...

I wish I could play it! I am forced to play the MP3 player instead! :) The only time I was able to hear the 1st movement was from a friend of mine who happened to be a concert pianist. He played for me the first half of it. I tell you it was great watching his hands move all around the keyboard! I w...

Best Rach 3

I would strongly agree that Ashkenazy's recording of the Rach 3 is the very best!

Haven't

I would love to see them live! As far as recordings go, I have listened to many. The one I recommend is from the London Label by the Philadelphia Orchestra with Charles Dutiot. It has the Bells on there and Three Russian Songs. I just about wore out the CD! Here is the URL at Amazon. Too bad i...

Right way to play rach?

Is there a 'right' way to play Rach? :? Is there a 'wrong' way to play Rach? Well, one would have to find the premise what is the 'right' way, first of all. Every virutsio has their own style of performance and how they interpret music. A great pianist can express themselves well through other peopl...

Op. 19: Sonata, for cello and piano in G minor

:D I am very picky with my versions of Rach (that I listen to) and who plays them. I currently own 23 CD's of Rach and there are some in my collection that I would gladly trade for other renditions. By far, my most treasured CD is: Op. 19: Sonata, for cello and piano in G minor performed by Truls Mø...
