Russian composer dies

Postby opus23#10 » Wed Dec 30, 2009 6:20 pm

Isaac Schwartz, composer of music for movies and theater, has died in St. Petersburg, Russia at the age of 86. Schwartz surely came under Rachmaninoff's influence, since he was a young teen at the time of SVR's death, and that great composer's music continued to be of influence. Can anyone comment about Rachmaninoff's influence on Schwartz's music? Is Schwartz's music still popular in Russia?
