Unfortunately We do not have videos available. Although there are some piano rolls and old recordings that are worthy.

seemigly, no footage exists of Rachmaninoff playing. whilst he seems to have been an avid participant in home movies, his aversion to broadcasting seems to have extended to this sort of coverage.

there are rumors though of pianist Emile Gilels who in the 50ies has actually seen footage of Sergei playing!

During the Rachmaninoff Conference in London we were treated with unique private film footage of Sergei Rachmaninoff and his family. Unfortunately you did not see him play the piano but play with his grandchildren instead!

Well,
My friend who is a pupil of Alexander Borovsky proclaimed that he had seen Rachmaninoff playing on a Hollywood event. The video was broadcasting on Discover or silimar channels last year. It was short footage but superb.

Anyone knows or has this, please share.

I would love to see Rachmaninoff play. This lady I know once told me that her teacher actually went to Rachmaninoff's concert and saw him play live! How lucky she is!

By the way, does anybody know if I could get his plaster hand like the one shown in the movie "Shine". I would like to get one.

Have a nice day, all!

Wow Art007, your news, if true, is spectacular!! Please check with your friend if he really saw footage of SVR playing and not just walking around. As for now, even Alexandre Rachmaninoff has not seen footage of his grandfather playing!

So, Art007, it was broadcasted on one of the Discovery channels, right?
I just submitted an inquiry to their Viewer Relations. Let's see what they say... :?

RACHBOY, is Sergei's grandson still alive? What does he do?
Do you know where the rest of his family members are now?

Hello my dear friends,

Here is the update on possible 'video aired on Discovery or the affiliations'. Well, we have a long way to go... but it's worth it, right?
I sent them another message with Rachmaninoff's different spellings just in case... I haven't heard from them yet on that... Well, I should try the same thing with other broadcasters... Has anyone got any info??

Thank you for contacting Discovery Networks. Unfortunately, with the large number of programs we have listed in our systems, we are unable to locate the program you are inquiring about. Typically, there are a few ways to locate programs, such as:

§ Exact title
§ Key words regarding the description of the program
§ Day and time it was televised including time zone, and city/state in
which program aired
§ Network (Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Travel Channel,
Discovery Health, etc)

After conducting our search, we have concluded that we will need one or
more of the specific items listed above to locate the program.

Mayla, these are mpg files. They should play properly with most media players, including Windows Media Player and Apple QuickTime. If you have a slow connection, you may find it better to download the mpg files to your own computer, then play them. Be warned, though, that these are large files and if you have a slow connection, they will take time to download.

Well, thank you for your help, but, I still cannot get it to work  I do not have a slow connection, and have tried everything I know how to. It just says "done" on the bottom of the screen with a little square icon on the top left of the screen, that if I remeber correctly has a couple of coloured objects in it (maybe circles ?) Anyway, :(
