Is it that I just can't find this topic, it seems to me there is already one like this and I want to find the answers, please help me to find it...

What composers were under Rachmaninoff's influence?

I remember there were answers, wanted to find those composers...

It's from a WWII movie soundtrack..."Suicide Squadron". The producers of the film wanted SVR to provide something along the lines of a piano concerto but were unable to convince him to do so. :wink:

Since Rachmaninoff declined the request of the movie producers, they sought someone able to write "Rachmaninoff-like" concerto. Stubborn producers... :D
So we got the "Warsaw Concerto", with the co-contribution of Richard Roy Douglas.

Everyone is free to assess the quota of "Rachmaninoffism" in this work... For me it's another proof of how misjudged and superficially approached Rachmaninoff's music was: they wanted just the "outer walls" without caring too much about what was inside.
