More Rachmaninoff on Youtube

Postby opus23#10 » Sat May 29, 2010 1:07 am

Youtube is a galaxy of Rachmaninoff information and music! I decided to Google Henselt, piano composer, and got SVR playing Si oiseau j'etais, one of my favorite piano works, which is also in the "box" by RCA Red Seal. Other pieces from the same source are are on this site too. Still more of SVR's recordings at the site include Gluck's Melody
and Borodin's Scherzo. "Ave Maria" from Rachmaninoff's Vespers also appears, with some interesting comments by a bass singer who really loves the work.

No one plays Rachmaninoff better than Gilels. He plays these preludes with such force and passion and still maintains his precision and? accuracy. He truly inspires me to take up lessons for piano..
