Impressions from our crowdfunding event at Hermitage Amsterdam December 2017
Sergei Rachmaninoff’s life was brutally uprooted three times. First in childhood, then in the prime of his life, and, finally, at the beginning of his old age. The many traces he left behind are scattered all over the world in very different countries with sharply contrasting political systems. As a result, our current image of Rachmaninoff remains fragmentary.
For the third time this year we are at Villa Senar (near Lucern) to continue our work on the artifacts and documents. Now, at the quiet start of Autumn, the sleeping beauty of the country estate on Lake Lucerne casts a mystery spell. Time seems to have stopped.
